Varanasi: In a family dispute, a medical practitioner, Dr.
Sapna Dutta, was killed with a hammer and a pair of scissors by his brother-in-law, Anil Kumar Dutta at his clinic at Sant Raghuvar Nagar Colony at Mahmoorganjoad Road in Sigra.
on Wednesday.
After the incident, Antil surrendered before the police and claimed to be crime and was arrested.
Anil is the son of the former MLA Rajanikant Dutta.
According to a report, admitting his crime, Anil told the police that he went to meet his parents.
However, heated exchanges occurred between him and Sapna.
In anger, he attacked him with a hammer and a pair of scissors.
He died in place.
The police recovered the two items used in crime.
The police also arrested the servant of Anil Raushan, who fled after the incident.
Sapna Dr.’s husband Anjani Dutta is a doctor.
They run their clinic on the ground floor of the former MLA house.
During the police investigation, it was revealed that there was a property dispute in the family.
Rajanikant has five sons.
His eldest son Dr.
Ashwini Kumar Dutta died of Covid-19 in April this year.
Anil, who runs a medical store, lives in the Dashashwamedh area, while other family members live in this house.
DCP Vikrant Veer said, “The accusation has recognized his crime.
Further investigation is ongoing.”
