Laggard Bihar ranks 4th among countries in providing tap water in rural areas

Patna: Bihar has emerged as one of the best-performing countries in terms of providing safe drinking water through a tap, with 87 percent of its rural households having access to the convenience, the main aide by Minister of Minister Nith Kumar said on Wednesday but insisted it was mostly due to the state scheme And not the mission of Jeevan Jeevan Center.
The Minister of Water Resources Negara Sanjay Kumar Jha made the average on her official Twitter handle, sharing a newspaper report that places Bihar among the countries of “the top four” of this country in terms of the availability of tap water to the household.
This report is based on the data provided by the Jeevan Mission (JJM) website, an ambitious project from the Government of Narendra Modi launched two years aimed at providing tap water to all rustic households in 2024.
According to JJM data, Bihar, often accused of being flagged Administrative, accounted for 1.46 water crore connections from 4.73 crore for all countries, placing them far above the national average of 41.57 percent since the mission launch in 2019.

Jha, however, insisted that most of the country’s spectacular success was due to the “Har Ghar Nal Jal” scheme from the Head of the Minister of Bihar who preceded the Central JJM.
According to Jha, this scheme was launched in September 2016 and is responsible for ensuring the availability of tap water in most country rural areas.
In a tweet, he said, below Jal Jeevan Mission “Bihar has done work at 4,891 wards from a total of 1,14,651 rustic wards.
1,346 wards taken under the national rural drinking water supply program from the Indonesian government.
The remaining 1,08,414 wards are covered by The Har Ghar Nal Scheme of the State Government “.
