Lakh left Hyd to celebrate Sankranti in the middle of frightening the virus

Hyderabad: Lakh people have left the city for their hometown to celebrate the Sankranti Festival with the people they love, amid the increase in Covid-19 cases.
While many use TSRTC buses and trains, some drive to their hometown or recruit private vehicles to stay away from the crowd.
“Around 20-25 people have used TSRTC buses in the last four days to achieve their goals in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh,” VC Sajjana said, Managing Director of TSRTC.
He said that the corporation has run 4,000 special buses – 3,000 in Telangana and 1000 to AP to clean Sankranti Rush.
Likewise, the South Central Railway (SCR) runs 225 special trains, which is 50% of them are to various purposes in Telangana and AP, in January.
“We run a lot of special trains for Sankranti to Sabarimala and other destinations.
This train will stop at all the main stations,” said Chamesh, Head of Public Relations Officer, SCR.
Although personal buses charge a relatively higher price during the Sankranti season, many, especially those traveling at the last minute, using their services.
Shops that sell kites and colorful clothes, among others, are full of people because Denizens are busy making arrangements to celebrate festivals with their friends and family.
“My children started flying kites from the beginning of this week.
I bought large amounts of kites and spoiled so they didn’t have to run to the shops in the middle of the pandemic every time their kite was broken.

Many households are also busy preparing candy and food for the festival.
“It is a tradition for us to prepare ‘Ariselu’ and ‘Murukulu’ for Sankranti.
