Lakhimpur Kheri Case: Investigation Cannot Be a Final Story, SC Tells the Government

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Wednesday asked the Uttar Pradesh Government to submit a status report updated in cases related to October 3 violence at Lakhimpur Kheri on October 27.
The top government handed over the highest statement in the Supreme Court in the Supreme Court and told it it had caught 10 accused in connection with the Lakhimpur Kheri incident.
The bench led by CJI N V Ramana was told that the police had also registered firs for Lynching of Three by protesting farmers.
“Investigations cannot become endless stories and countries must eliminate the view that the police dragged his feet about the investigation,” said the Supreme Court.
“The statement of four of the 44 witnesses was recorded by Judge Judicial in the case of the Lakhimpur Kheri,” the governor told the Supreme Court.
The APEX court further asked the government to record the remaining witness statements from the Lakhimpur Kheri incident before the justice judge.
SC has been on October 8, stated dissatisfaction with the steps taken by the Uttar Pradesh government in the murder of eight people.
Ten people, including Ashish Mishra, Son of Union State Minister for Affairs of Houses and the Bharatiya Janata (BJP) MP Ajay Kumar Mishra ‘Teni’, have been arrested so far in connection with this case.
The top yesterday said it was “dissatisfied” with the actions taken by the Government of Uttar Pradesh in the violence of Lakhimpur Kheri and also questioned the state of why Ashish Mishra was accused of being captured so far.
