New Delhi: The NSA Conference on Afghanistan on Wednesday saw India and Russia joining others in underlining the importance of ensuring the rights of women, children and national minorities in Afghanistan.
They condemn terrorism in all forms and manifestations and underlines that the Afghanistan region should not be used to target others.
During the bilateral meeting later, the Secretary of the Russian Security Council, Nikolai Patrushev, and NSA Ajit Doval discussed plans for further cooperation between Russia and India in the scope of security, and touched a number of regional problems.
At the end of the meeting, Patrushev thanked India to organize Delhi Regional Security dialogue in Afghanistan.
According to Doval, Russia, who first appeared with Indian ideas held a meeting in Afghanistan.
Doval also has a bilateral meeting with his colleagues from Kazakhstan and Iran.
“This is a substantive meeting and reflects NSA’s personal chemistry with his colleagues,” said a source.
Some problems discussed with Russia include future high-level exchanges, including Visit President Vladimir Putin to India, and defense cooperation.
Russia will also participate in the Troika Plus meeting that will host Pakistan Thursday.
