Mumbai: Starting today, Spicejet passengers on flights to Delhi can be booked, medium, taxis for travel from the airport, using their own phones, laptops or tablets that have entered the entertainment platform in airline airlines.
Spicejet announced the first first initiative on Thursday that it would further expand services at all major airports including Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderi, Goa, Chennai, Kolkata, Ahmedabad and Pune gradually.
“Offering the last smooth connectivity, this service will allow passengers to order airport transfers in medium air to avoid waiting for their transportation, post-arrival in the taxi transfer area,” the airline said in a press statement.
The airline said it would offer special discounted rates exclusively on booking taxis through the SpicyScreen platform.
In the case, passengers cannot take a taxi for any reason, there is no cancellation fee to be collected, he said.
As soon as a taxi book passenger in Spiceesscreen, they will get an OTP message booking a taxi via SMS, WhatsApp and confirmation of the call bound automatically on their cellphones on arrival.
It will also allow customers flexibility to pay through any payment options (online or cash) at the end of the trip.
Spicejet launched the In-Flight ‘Spicescreen’ entertainment system, the BYOD concept in August last year.
Passengers can access the spreadcreen on their handheld devices – smartphones, tablets or laptops by connecting to the on-board wireless network.
“Spicescreen was indigidated by the Spicejet team along with a local start-up.
The team uses an Android cellphone with a weight of about 200 grams each of which performs a double role of Wi-Fi servers and content hubs.
This innovation helps this airline with expensive and large equipment, “The airline said.
