Shimla: nine tourists were killed and three others were injured on Sunday afternoon after large stones, loosely with massive landslides, fell in their van near the Baster Village at Kinnaur Pradesh.
The tourists came from Chhitkul, the village inhabited last near the border with China in Kinnaur, to Sangla, when landslides, triggered by rain was unrelenting, crashing into the Sangla-Chitkul road.
Large stones and large stones fell on the road and caused the collapse of the bridge on the Bapsa River which connected the village of Batsisi with the remaining Kinnaur.

Injuries including Shirril Obroy (39) from West Delhi; Naveen Bhardwaj (37) from Kharar in Mohali and Ranjeet Singh (45), a local from the village of Batseri in Sangla.
Some landslides triggered by rain recently occurred near the basony on Sunday afternoon.
A pedestrian was injured in another landslide in Kinnaur District, police said.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed condolences for death and announced ex-gratia each RS 2 lakh each to Kin next of those who were killed in an accident and Rs 50,000 to injured.
Holling death, Minister of Man Jai Ram Thakur said the required instructions had been issued for Kinnaur’s government to provide all the assistance for those affected by the incident.
