Kolkata: Bypass Em Bound Frovover Ultanga reopened on Monday from 6am and so on after the load capacity test after repairs on the side carried out by the Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority (KMDA).
Bypass Bound Flank of the Flyover was closed last Thursday for KMDA to do load tests.
Officials said that four trucks were sand filling with a total weight of around 124 tons uploaded on the side to test static loads and in accordance with the initial findings during the test, the side had succeeded in taking the burden without much deviation.
Repair assessment and post-repair from Liber Ultakanga now conclude with the completion of the load test.
Bypass bypass binding the flyover wing has developed a number of times that are temporarily repaired in 2019 but full repair and strengthening wing work is left this year by KMDA.
Among other bridges at Bypass Em, the authorities have taken land test work before starting with major repairs and retrofit rail baghurchatin work on the bridge.
Meanwhile, KMDa has involved an agent who was conducting a survey and prepared a detailed project report for a comprehensive repair of 17km long bypass stretching from Hudco crossing to Gariah.
“This body conducts an assessment of the whole stretch of cutting how the road stretching conditions are rejected by the crater and a special hole during the rainy season can be corrected and improved,” said a kmda official.
Officials say that according to the instructions set by the authorities, the top bitumen layer of the EM Bypass stretch requires routine maintenance for every five years but the last surface is placed on 2016-14 and has passed for two to three years.
Em Bypass Stretch conditions deteriorate after heavy rain after the rainy season every year when the KMDA authority conducts a patch working at temporary points as temporary steps.
