“There are three homeless people trapped underneath,” Martial said.
“Two can come out of their own free will.
The third is actually beaten behind the head.
He emanates blood.” Martial told the newspaper that he called 911 and tried to help injured men.
He also said firefighters arrived “very fast” and pulled someone from debris.
The photo shows the rubble piles up in front of the reading sign “bienvenidos” in Spanish, or “Welcome.” Broadwell said no one else was injured and there was a little damage to the interior of the store.
Deli Supervisor Adolfo Navarrete told the journal review and more than a dozen other employees were tried from behind the building to a safe place.
“I just saw the window broke like that was an earthquake,” he said.
“And I looked behind me and I saw a group of debris and dust.” This shop was in the mall built in 1979 with business including restaurants and clothing, ice cream and beauty shops.
Broadwell said it didn’t seem to appear that other shops were damaged and the investigation was handed over to district officials to examine structural strength.
