SRINAGAR: The last living terrorist involved in the 2019 Pulwama attack which killed 40 CRPF personnel was one of the trio of Jaish-e-Mohammad was shot down by security forces in the evening operation at Anantnag two days ago, IGP (Kashmir) Vijay Kumar said on Saturday .
The identity of Commander Jaish Slain Samir Dar will focus on being confirmed through the DNA profile.
The IGP said security forces knew them to something after noting that the face of one of the three terrorists was killed in the Cordon-and-search operation at Nowgam Dooru at Anantnag last Thursday matched Samir in the notes.
He was originally identified as someone else.
Closer inspection revealed that he was a local commander who had avoided them for almost three years since the Pulwama attack.
Samir is part of the recruiting team that recruits and trains a suicide bomber, identified as fair Ahmed Dar, to showcase vehicles that are full of explosives to CRPF personnel carrying buses in Lethpa in Pulwama District on February 14, 2019, police said.
Of the three terrorists, he was shot dead at Anantnag on Thursday, someone was identified as Pakistan.
Other Pakistan was in a group of three other terrorists who were killed in simultaneous operation by the team with the army, police and CRPF in Kulgam side by side.
Lt Gen DP Pandey, Command General of the Army Chinar Corps Commander, said Jaish Based on Pakistan has assigned Samir with recruiting training to make and plan improvised explosives (IED) to target security forces.
