‘Law immediately to ensure a minimum salary’

ThiruvananThapuram: The government is in the process of preparing laws to ensure the minimum salary of the basic and state of staff services from educational institutions without assistance recognized in the state and to ensure that they are not exploited, said General Education and Minister of Labor V Sivankutty Assembly on Wednesday.
Replying to the shipment in this case by MLA K K Ramachandran, the minister said that after a clear law, the government has limitations in interference in these matters.
On the basis of government orders and intervention by the High Court in this case, the government also checks whether the staff in these institutions are paid for minimum wages during periodic inspections.
The government also took action whenever he received several complaints in this matter, said the Minister.
He said that the notification of improving the minimum wage and service conditions of education institutions without assistance have been published by the Ministry of Manpower as well, but this has lived in the High Court.
The Labor Department has also notified that all conditions in the benefit of maternity, 1961, will apply to school teachers without assistance too.
The minister said that the government had learned that 35 teachers were dismissed from Sri Gokulam Public Schools, Thrissur, without issuing notifications or providing any benefit, but no complaints in this matter had been received by the district work office, Thrissur.
