Coimbatore: CB-CID police have arrested a lawyer on charges of pocketing compensation ordered by the Dharapuram sub-court to a pair of tirupur through fraud meaning a few years ago.
The CB-CID team was led by police deputy supervisor P Sivakumar arrested lawyers, Murucesan, 57, from Mylapore in Chennai in January 8.
This case was related to the death of Shanmugasundaram, 22, in an accident on the road involving the TNSTC bus in the Tirupur district in 2011.
His parents Balasubramanian and Eswari filed a motorized vehicle accident claimed the original petition case (MCOP) before the Dharapuram sub-court was looking for compensation.
The court ordered the compensation of Rs 3.75 Lakh to the victim’s parents in 2015.
When parents did not receive the amount, they submitted a petition in 2019 before the same thing court sought compensation.
During the trial, Judge M Dharmaprabhu found that Murucesan had pocketed compensation by making a man and a woman disguised into the victim’s parents.
He also changed photos of parents in the request submitted by them with the help of Baskaran, who had worked in court as officers at the time.

He also moved Madras High Court and obtained anticipatory guarantees.
But soon, the guarantee is valued.
CB-CID enrolled a new case on December 12, 2021, based on the direction of the High Court, and captured Murucesan and Baskaran.
