Yavatmal: All lawyers in the city Abstain from the work of the court on Monday to protest the attack on members of the Yavatmal Harshavardhan Deshmukh District Bar Association and demanded direct action against the perpetrators.
According to the source, the attack took place in Arni Road when Deshmukh went to his car to attend several jobs on Sunday when one Sapre Kunal, also drove a four-wheeled vehicle, allegedly coming from behind and forced a lawyer to stop the vehicle.
As soon as the car stopped, Sapre came to Deshmukh’s car and allegedly started abusing it.
He also destroyed the car window with an iron rod, hit Deshmukh and escaped from the scene.
Deshmukh was injured and had been treated at a private hospital.
A pine was put forward at the police station Awadhootwadi and the police have registered a violation below Section 307, 341, 294, 506 IPC against Sapre, but no arrest was carried out.
Then, the delegation led by the President of the Javatmal Jitendra Baradkar District Bar Association, Secretary Amit Badnore and the others submitted a memorandum to the collector and police supervisor who urged them to immediately arrest the perpetrators.
The lawyer in a round voice decided not to represent Sapre who was accused when his case came to be tried.
