Imphal: Learning lessons from a group of defection and peak leader, the leadership of the State Congress on Sunday ended BJP hunters and said it changed the strategy with “day and clock” to control the desertir.
This step came after the former MLA and Veteran Congress from Valley Invomunicado for the past two days, a Senior PCC spokesman KH Debabrata told TII.
He called Congress a strong party that would not be easily defeated by the BJP movement.
He, however, refused to divulge the details of the strategy but said the wisdom of the grand party was right on the track.
“The key to this strategy is to understand BJP intentions quite well and we know how to fight and win with absolute majority and if not, it appears as the largest single party,” said Congress leader.
Recognizing that the Congress has been hit by a series of defections to BJP, Debabrata said, “What is more unfortunate is that BJP encourages the hunting of MLAS regardless of anti-defectoral law enforced.” He stressed, “We are battered but not discouraged.
They (BJP) see us as the only strong and fat parties that will defeat them in the next poll.
Therefore, they plan to poison as many leaders who can be won.
“Debabrata also estimates the fall of the BJP and said,” Downfall (BJP) they are close because they now have too many ticket seekers and they will trigger wisdom which will definitely attract the Safron Party.
” He added, “Our target is to win the absolute majority at 60 members.
If not, we will appear as the biggest single party.
We deploy more than 50 candidates and will immediately distribute tickets, we will not enter the pre-poll alliance.
However , post-polling pact with NPF and NPP after the election to form the next government is on the card.
“Political analyst assumes that the strategy of the Congress can include monitoring their leaders and keeping them in BJP members, including those who switch the previous side.
In particular, Congress ruled Manipur for 15 years under Okram Ibobi Singh and became the largest party with 28 legislators in the 2017 elections.
However, BJP with 21 MLA, defeated the old Grand Party by boiling MLA even before swore and formed the government with the help of NPP, NPF, TMC and LJP and independent candidates.
Reacting to developments, AICC leaders who are responsible for Manipur, Bhakta Charan watershed, have commented, “They (BJP) allows things in impossible situations.”
