Kanpur: Vikram Kothari, Promoter Rotomac Global Private Limited, died on Tuesday morning.
He was 72 and survived his wife, son and his daughter.
Vikram, which is one of the leading businessmen of the country and is associated with two popular brands – Pan Parag (Gutkha) and Rotomac (pen) – inhaling the latter at his residence in Tilak Nagar in Kanpur.
At the time of the incident, he was alone in his house.
In the morning, the waiters found him unconscious and called the doctor who stated he died, maybe because of a heart attack.
They first reported his death to his wife Sadhana, who was in Lucknow.
Recalling, Vikram was originally involved in the export-import business and parted ways with Pan Parag in 1999 after the family parted ways.
He then launched the Rotomac pen company.
Vikram is the famous Industrialist Mansuchlad Mahadev Bhai Kothari, who started the Gutkha brand named ‘Paan Parag’ in 1973, which soon became the name of a household.
However, after division in the family business after Mansukh Kothari’s death, ‘Gutkha’ went to his other sons in Deepak Kothari.
Then, Vikram also launched Kothari food and fragrances, the writing instrument of Alba Crown, Mohan Steels Limited, RFL Infrastructure Pvt.
Ltd., and Rave Entertainment Pvt.
Ltd.
In addition, the group real estate business in Kanpur, Lucknow, Dehradun and Ahmedabad.
He was also given the best exporter award at the time of Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
Rotomac pen has been sold in 38 countries around the world.
However, in 2018 Kothari faced the heat of the central agent after the Central Investigation Bureau (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) registered separate cases and their company for suspected deceiving RS 3,695 Crore from seven banks from 2008.

CBI Has captured it on February 23, 2018 in a case registered by the agency following the complaint submitted by the Bank of Baroda.

Recently, he also suffered a brain stroke after he fell at his house and was taken to Delhi through the air ambulance.
His sister, Deepak Kothari said that Vikram’s last trip would start from his ‘Santushti’ residence in Tilak Nagar for Bhairav Ghat at 9 am on Wednesday.
