Ahmedabad: Gujarat makes a quick step to the renewable energy sector (Re) with many mega green energy projects.
These projects are related not only on power plants but also for equipment manufacturing.
Supported by strong investor policy and support initiatives, the capacity of Gujarat power plant is expected to surge into 38.466mW in 2025 and 61,466mW in 2030, according to the state government estimate.
At present, the total capacity of the power plant is installed by the state of the renewable energy source – sun, wind, hydel, biomass and bagasse – is around 13,152MW.
“In the next 3-5 years, Gujarat will definitely become a global center for the renewable energy sector.
Our installed capacity to produce power from renewable energy sources is expected to surge into more than 38,000 MW in 2025 and more than 61,000 MW in 2030, “Mamta Verma said, the main secretary, Gujarat Department, Gujarat government.
“This estimate is based on the project plan that has been completed.
Estimates tend to be revised immediately given the entry of new proposals.” Verma continued by saying: “With the policies of the state and central government and a positive approach, the dependence of Gujarat on non-renewable energy will be ignored or zero In the coming years.
” To increase electricity generation of renewable energy sources, several Mega projects are being implemented throughout the state.
In December 2020, Prime Minister Narendra Modi put the stone foundation for the 30,000 MW hybrid-renewable energy park (sun and wind) at Kutch, which was billed as the largest type of world.
Spreaded at 72,600 hectares, parks were being founded near the Indo-sir border, about 90 km from Khavda.
It is estimated that the project will attract an investment of Rs 1.5 Lakh Crore.
Recently, Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd (GUVNL) affiliated with four power distribution companies signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for 3,979 small solar projects (0.5-4MW) with a cumulative generation capacity of 2,500mW.
These projects are expected to be assigned in the next 18 months and they will bring an investment worth 10,000 crore at green energy and the sector sector.
The country has worked on the development of solar energy parks in Dholera near Ahmedabad, and in Raghanesda and Harshad in Banakaitha.
A many solar power and wind projects are being established in the state, which is auctioned by the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI).
Gujarat is the upper state in solar roof installation.
The country’s renewable energy sector received a shot in the arm last month when Mukesh Ambani-LED Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) announced that the company had begun to develop the GIGA Giga Energy Complex Dhirubhai Ambani at 5,000 hectares in Jamnagar.
It will have four GIGA factories to produce solar photovoltaic modules, energy storage batteries, fuel cells and electrolysis.
RIL will invest RS 60,000 Crore in this initiative for the next three years.
The company will invest other RS 15,000 crores to provide infrastructure and utilities to produce additional materials and equipment needed to support these GIGA factories.
Dependence will determine and activate at least 100GW of solar energy in India in 2030.
“With the announcement of the Mega renewable energy project over the past few years, Gujarat is now ready to become a hub for the manufacture and equipment of renewable energy,” said Kunj Shah, Chairperson, Committee Renewable energy, the Assocham Gujarat Board.
“Given the size and scale of the project in the renewable energy room, the state has the potential to become a global hub for manufacturing renewable energy and equipment manufacturing.” The average power request of Gujarat floated around 16,500mW and about a third of it was filled through renewable strength.
The average power request of the state is expected to rise to 28,500 MW in 2030.
At that time, the capacity of power plants installed by the state would be more than double the average power requirement.
Gujarat also quickly appeared as a solar equipment manufacturing center and returned with RIL to the latest participants.
Adani Solar, the largest solar manufacturer and integrated module in India, has operated solar PV cells and manufacturing facilities in Mundra with a capacity of 1.5GW.
The plan is to increase to 3.5GW.
Adani Group has operated a solar and wind project with a cumulative capacity of 925 MW at Kutch, while the project up to 880MW is under construction or in the pipeline in the district.
Surat-based solar panel manufacturer, Goldi Solar also plans to increase its manufacturing capacity of 500 MW to 2,500 MW in stages.
