PANAJI: Smarting from a ticket was rejected for the election of February 14, Minister PwD Deepak Pauskar and Vice speaker Mla Isidore Fernandes had decided to oppose BJP.
Fernandes resigned as MLA and BJP’s main member on Thursday.
WRD Minister Filipe Nery Rodrigues, which on Wednesday announced that he would resign from the government but then postponed his decision, also rejected by BJP’s nomination.
Pauskar has announced that he will compete as independent, while Fernandes will decide on Friday whether he will go alone or join other political clothes.
“BJP will not cross the digit in the assembly poll.
I will compete as independent and will start a door-to-door campaign from Friday.
I am sure I will win the election and work for Sanvordem people,” he said.
He claimed that BJP did not let him appear as Minister of PWD.
“I was given a PWD portfolio because I saved the BJP government.” He alleged that the Safron party had decided to deny Caldidature to him a year ago and said the Chairman of the Minister of Pramod Sawant was behind the move.
SanvordeM MLA joined BJP in 2019 along with Deputy Chief of Manohar Ajgaonkar Minister after they combine MGP legislative wings with BJP.
“After winning the election, we will provide support to the government that will promise to fulfill all our demands,” said Pauskar.
Fernandes, who represents the constituency of Canacona, has called on the meeting of his supporters on Friday to decide on the next action plan.
“I will definitely oppose the upcoming assembly selection.
After consulting with my supporters, I will decide whether to be an independent contest or to join other political parties,” Fernandes Toi said.
He joined BJP in 2019 along with nine other MLA Congress.
