Lebanon fell into the dark after a grid failure

Beirut: The two main Lebanese power plants were forced to close after running out of fuel, the state electricity company said Saturday, leaving a small country without the power produced by the government.
The country fought against one of the worst economic crises of planets since the 1850s, and has been in the past few months struggling to import sufficient fuel oil for its power plants.
An erratic power supply has placed hospitals and important services in crisis mode.
Lebanon is increasingly dependent on private operators who are also struggling to secure supplies.
Lack of diesel and fuel, along with ancient infrastructure, has a deteriorating power outage.
The blackouts used to last for three to six hours can now leave the area with no more than two hours of state power a day.
“The electricity network completely stops working, and it is impossible it will succeed until next Monday, or for several days,” said an official.
