Chennai: The leader of the Rahul Gandhi Congress on Saturday said former Chief Minister Tamil Nadu and DMK Patriarch M Karanganidhi was one of the key architects of the social revolution.
In a letter to the head of Minister M K Stalin on the commemoration of the death of the three composers, the Congress leader said he wanted to respect the monumental contribution of the DMK leader who was late towards forming modern Tamil Nadu.
“Thaivar Kalaivar M Karutidhi is not just one of the main architects of the social revolution that changes the lives of millions of people but struggles to ensure that our federal government recognizes various regional aspirations,” Rahul said.
The Congress leader continued by saying that the foundation placed by the former minister continued to inspire people to embrace and preserve their sub-culture and identity and strive for a truly inclusive country.
“Today, when we fight efforts to impose regressive values, we draw the strength of your father’s dashing struggle and the people’s movement he built around the progressive agenda,” Rahul, added that the legacy of the road would continue to guide this’.
The minister fifth died at the age of 94 years after a prolonged illness.
