AHMEDABAD: A legislation that offers rigorous punishment for forcible or deceptive religious transformation during union came to power in Gujarat out of Tuesday, an official said.
Governor Acharya Devvrat needed on May 22 granted his assent to the Gujarat Freedom of Religion (Amendment) Bill, 2021, that provides for imprisonment up to ten decades plus a fine of Rs 5 lakh in some specific circumstances.
