Vadodara: A year and a half years ago, Hemali Parmar, a professional photographer, was interested when one of his gay friend’s family refused to accept his relationship with another man.
He began looking for the same sex couples in India for taking a photo shoot.
“My friend’s family was highly educated but they still had a narrow-minded view.
So, I thought of doing something to make people talk openly here,” Parmar said.
“I surprisingly found many same-sex partners but none of them were ready to be clicked,” Parmar, 34, told toi.
Determined to get a photo of a homosexual partner, Parmar traveled to the US where he could finally click on one gay pair.
“I come into contact with Fernando and Austin in Ohio who get married for the past two years.
They immediately agreed to shoot.
Interestingly, even though the same sex marriage becomes legal in the US, many people there don’t accept it easily.
