PUNE: A completely grown leopard had been sighted by villagers in Nerhe-Duttawadi and Kasarsai, roughly eight kilometers from Hinjewadi about the outskirts of Pune, inducing terror among villagers on Saturday evening.
The villagers first seen the creature sitting nearby sugarcane area in Kasarsai village, forest officials said.
Paud forest range officer Popat Kapse told TOI,”We didn’t learn more about the creature’s existence following the villagers created a movie and circulated it all on societal networking platforms.
Our team and patrol team promptly visited the region and confirmed the existence of the creature throughout the pug marks” The forest officials aren’t ruling out the chance of the existence of a fully grown male and a female predator and both cubs in the region.
“We’d discovered two cubs from the sugarcane areas around Marunji village a couple of months back.
We needed to launch them at exactly the identical place to return with their mom.
The existence of a single leopard household is seen within our forest regions,” Kapse additional.
“The leopards thus much have murdered goats, stray cows and dogs in cities in Mulshi and Maval tehsils, however there isn’t a single assault on individual,” explained Kapse, who and other officers held meeting villagers to listen to their concerns about Sunday.
He stated,”A habitat of predator is there within our scope and hence we’ve advised the villagers to have mandatory precaution for example maintaining domestic animals in appropriate cattle sheds, to not roam alone through nighttime near woods, burst firecrackers to shoo them off and visiti farms in classes for work at nighttime.
These steps would prevent the creature from entering cities and hamlets.” On leopards drifting, Kapse stated,”Because they (creatures ) get sufficient prey and food in woods and neighboring villages, they have not thus far travelled into the metropolitan areas such as Hinjewadi IT park that’s located eight kilometers away in the present sight” On putting cages, Kapse stated,”We can take decision with this following a conversation with all the villagers in next couple of days.
We will need to complete compulsory process before placing up snare cages in the region.
We have not put crate everywhere in the cities,” he supported.
