Nagpur: Leopard and three wild boars were found dead at a night well farm on Friday, in Tirora Tehsil from the Gondia district.
Prima Facie, this death seems to be the result of the leopard who pursues wild boar and they all fall into the open.
Tirora Range Forest Officer R S Akre said the Forestry Department learned about animals that fell to the farm well around 7:30 p.m.
“The incident was from Mouza Kindegipar.
A forest official team immediately reached the place and saw that the bodies of leopards and three wild pigs were in the well.
The stench also came from there,” said Akre.
Over the evening, further rescue operations became impossible.
Forest officials close the area by placing a rope about 50 meters from the place.
Some officials were placed there for that night.
The next morning, officials took off the bodies and performed the final ritual after performing mandatory documents.
Akre said, “Until now we have not found evidence of hunting.
The well does not have a parapet wall for protection so it seems an animal, which runs at high speed, just falls there.
However, according to the investigation procedure is ongoing and we will submit our official report after that .
“On Saturday, Deputy Conservator of Forest Kulraj Singh, Assistant Conservator of Forest Sadgir, former Warden Wardlife Mukund Dhurve, Honorary Warden Warden Sawan Bahekar and Bondarani beat MJ Suryawanshi, along with others, a visit to the spot.
