Coimbatore: The forest department official on Thursday caught a male leopard after darting him with sedatives at Ammapalayam near the city of Thirahuruganpondi in the Tirupur district.
High drama won during arrest when a number of people from the villages around gathered in place.
Forest officers say leopards will be translocated to Animalai Tiger reserves (ATR).
This is the second leopard captured by forest officials this month – the first of the area B K Pudur in Coimbatore Regency.
