Mysuru: There are less than 10 students at 3,179 primary bottom and 219 higher elementary schools run by the Public Instruction Department (DPI) throughout Karnataka this year.
Overall, 10,588 schools run by DPI have up to 20 students.
This has increased the question of whether these schools must be continued or join the nearest school to improve the academic environment and use infrastructure better.
In accordance with data, there are 6,01,072 students in 20,718 elementary schools, from grade 1 to 5, run by DPI.
At 3,330 lower elementary schools, the number of students between 11 and 15.
And, 3,262 schools have the number of students between 16 and 20 and 4,465 schools have the power of students between 21 and 30.
The scenario is not different in higher elementary schools have a class between 1 and 7/8.
In 219 schools, the number of students is less than 104 schools, the strength of students between 11 and 15.
