PANAJI: The Bombay High Court in Goa on Monday told the government that lessons must be learned from lives lost because of Covid and that the government must use this time to prepare the next wave.
It also directed the committee formed by the government on May 13 to ask for the issue of oxygen supply at the Goa Medical College (GMC) to submit its report within four weeks to the government and after which handed it to the High Court.
“Now after the Covid wave 19 cases have receded, there is no room for any satisfaction,” he said.
This adds that “this period must be used to make preparations to meet the projected consequences of the possibility of the third wave”.
Furthermore, the court in its order states, “State administration, which is guided by the expert committee, must anticipate oxygen requirements and other difficulties in the supply chain at this stage itself and, after that, take steps to ensure fully possible that there is no repetition of What happened in May 2021.
“The committee was based on asking about the issue of oxygen supply in GMC has been directed by the state to submit its report in three days.
However, the court found that the report had not been submitted to date.
When asked, the government said that the report could not be conveyed because some members were influenced by Covid and that the report would be submitted in a reasonable time.
“Although the findings in the report may not bind any parties, the report will at least help the state administration effectively deal with the problem of oxygen supply in Goa Medical College, so that state administration is good to overcome the problem.
It might arise because the third wave of pandemics,” Court Declare in its order, and direct the country to win over the committee to submit the earliest report.
“State administration, including the Dean, Goa Medical College, and other authorities to provide full cooperation to this committee in terms of investigation and its report,” the division bench consisting of Hakeses Mahesh Sonak and M S Jawalkar said in their order.
