Surat: Giving a positive signal for the development of Mega Textile Park (MTP) near the city, the secretary of the textile, U P Singh on Saturday hinted that the letter had a higher chance to get a park.
Speaking at the Prime Function of the Weave Knitt Exhibition organized by the South Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI) in the city in Sarsana, Singh called it a challenge for the state government to develop MTP.
The Weave Knitt initiative aims to provide platforms for weavers, knitter, technical textiles and fabric manufacturers.
The State Union Minister for Textiles and Railways, Darshana Jardosh, inaugurated the event, which was attended by Roop Rashi, Commissioner of Textile and August Saptono, Counsel General Indonesia in Mumbai.
This event was aimed at Abdul Matlub Ahmad, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Bangladesh India Bangladesh, Bangladesh, through video conferencing.
“MTP is a challenge for the state government to prove what they can do to establish a park and based on this will be given.
Letters are the main competitors for MTP and the need for 1,000 hectares is one of the basic criteria,” Singh said, adding that the Ministry of Textile would discuss MTP development with a cabinet at the end of this month.
Previously, Ashish Gujarati, President SGCCI, gave an overview of the textile industry and presented demands to ministers and textile officials.
“I am sure that with this visit, the ministry will be convinced about the feasibility of the textile textile cluster,” Gujarati said.
He also stated that it was necessary to center public facilities (CFC) in a letter that must be developed as a center of excellence for textiles in this country.
The event was attended by 125 exhibitors while visitors packed various parts of the country.
Among the attractions of Tencel Luxe Filament Yarn who were being promoted when Silk Vegan was first served at the event.
“It’s interesting to see a variety of vegan silk and we have to try to stick it as an Indian brand and someone suggests Ahinsa’s name for it,” Jardosh said.
