Paris: Robert Lewandowski, Lionel Messi and Mohamed was misamed Friday as three finalists for the FIFA best male player award, while Ballon D’or Winner Alexia Putellas was nominated for a women’s prize.
Poland Star Lewandowski won the FIFA award last year but had to be satisfied with the second one in 2021 Ballon d’or chose behind Messi, award-winning for the seventh time.
The award ceremony will be held almost from FIFA headquarters in Zurich on January 17.
Putellas, Barcelona Team-Mate Jennifer Hermoso and Australian striker Chelsea Sam Kerr is a finalist for the FIFA best female player award.
The trio is also the top three voting for Ballon d’Or.
The winner will succeed, England Bronze Lucy, who brought home the previous award.
Prizes for the best male and female players, coaches and goalkeepers were chosen by the captains and coaches of all national teams around the world, as well as online fans voting and a number of journalists.
Voting was closed on December 10, 10.
Manuel Neuer, Gianluigi Donnarumma and Edouard Mendy were running for the honor of the best men’s goalkeeper, while Roberto Mancini, Thomas Tuchel and Pep Guardiola were three nominations for the best men’s coach.
LLUIS Cortes, who led the Barcelona woman to the treble last season, against Chelsea coach Emma Hayes and Sarina Wiegman, former Dutch boss is now responsible for England, for top women coaches.
