LG can supply OLED panels for Apple iPad in 2024

LG Display is reported to be preparing to supply an OLED panel for the upcoming Apple iPad model.
According to a report by ETNews, the company plans to expand its factory in Paju, South Korea to support OLED panel requests for the iPad.
This report shows that the increase in production capacity will also be intended for future iPhone models.
It should be noted that it is impossible that the first iPad OLED will use the LG panel.
This is because the company plans to increase production in 2024 and it is expected that the first iPad OLED will run under manufacturing before it.
According to the previous report, Samsung is also ready to produce the OLED panel that Apple wants but it is looking for orders and large machines to do so.
The shared project between Samsung and Apple was reportedly called before because most OLED panels used a sagging structure where red, green and blue formed one layer of emissions.
However, Apple demanded two stack tandem structures for the OLED iPad panel when stacking two layers of red, green and blue emissions which doubled the brightness and expanded panel life up to four times.
In particular, LG display has made several panels with two tandem stack structures for several products.
If a new report from ETNews must be trusted then it is likely that we can see the Apple iPad with the OLED LG panel at the end of 2024.
Reports by Macrumor also revealed that the Chinese electronic component company, BOE, recently converted the layout of one of the OLED panel factories for its OLED panel Producing larger panels for other devices and cars, besides only smartphones.
BOE, which also occurs as an Apple supplier, can develop OLED display for iPad and IMAC in this factory.
