Liberal tourism: Goa Govt looking for time from HC

Panaji: The state government on Wednesday asked the Bombay High Court in Goa for more time to clarify the term “Liberal Tourism”.
The High Court postponed this problem until Monday.
The High Court on Monday directed the state government to clarify “on paper” the term as stated in the minutes of the last meeting, the state expert committee in Covid where it was unanimously decided to allow “liberal tourism” in the current situation.
At the same meeting, the expert committee was chaired by the Dean of Goa Medical College, Dr.
S Bandekar, unanimously decided that all people who were vaccinated fully have to be allowed to enter the cave without a negative Covid-19 certificate.
The country is looking for a court nod to allow people entry to be fully vaccinated into caves without the Covid-19 negative test certificate, and the court said there should be no conflict with the expert committee.
Stating that there “should not ambiguity anything”, the High Court on Monday directed the state government to submit a written statement submitted by the Secretary of Health or the Secretary of the Expert Committee member who brought the clarity of “Liberal Tourism”.
The Division bench also asked the government to state whether he wanted to allow to enter all people who were fully vaccinated without limitation and asked how it would distinguish between tourist and liberal tourists.
Tii previously reported that Advocate General Devidas Pangam said that the term “Liberal Tourism” was used in the context of activities, and would mean returning to situations such as Covid Pandemics, when the casino and hotel open.
