‘Life has changed dramatically in Kabul, now fear is all-soaking’

Kolkata: Azhar Haque makes a bag with his passport, important documents, cash and clothes ready with him at any time.
Because, anything can happen in Kabul anytime.
A resident of Rafi Ahmed Kidwai Road, Kolkatan has worked in Afghanistan for the past two years.
He is the Aschiana State Program Manager, an NGO in Afghanistan involved in education, child protection and the empowerment of young people.
Speaking with Ti by telephone from Kabul, this 32-year-old player shares experiences and trauma working in a war-hit country where every day brings new challenges.
“Two years ago when I first came to Afghanistan, the situation was not this volatile.
The cities are safe and people are free to visit the market or go out at night.
But things have changed dramatically in the past two months.
Fear has swallowed kabul when we get reports of war broke out in neighboring provinces, “said Azhar, an alumni of the London economy and political science.
“It’s sad to see what ordinary people faced.
They found an inappropriate situation similar to 1989 when the civil war broke out in the country,” he added.
While the whole world is more worried about who will seize power in Afghanistan, Azhar said, life has stopped for the people.
“They don’t want to lose the people they love or leave their homes.
Children are waiting for school to be reopened, the man is waiting to return to work and women are waiting for the day they don’t need to worry about the people they love so they step out , “he said.
As a social development worker in the conflict zone, Azhar has visited and lived in several Afghan troubled zones, living in mud houses in the extreme winter, almost made him killed by gas poisoning and escaped attacks in luck.
He has found people whose experiences have lossed it: Mothers who have lost boys, children who have lost father, children with bullet shells in their bodies, a little girl who saw suicide bombs blew himself and a lot Others, the list is no longer.
“All of these meetings have shaken me to the core and take great casualties on my mental health.
Sometimes I wake up with a gunshot or news of suicide attacks and in my dreams I am disturbed by a traumatic face.
Blood aroma and helpless mother shouts and children – Children chase me all day.
“The only thing that makes young social workers go is the warmth and love of the people.
Azhar said he had fallen in love with the country and its people.
He likes ‘Manto’ (Momo Stylish Afghanistan) but really needs “Maa-ka Haath Ka Biryani” and missed the house.
Afghans, he felt, as friendly as collapse.
“More than a century again, through the story of Tagore we have accepted the news as ours.
Now it seems that it has been accepted Kabuliwalah has accepted collaboration as their property work to lift a common Afghanistan.
