Lifeline Karnataka is under threat

By Prakash Vlwater the quality of pharmaceutical contaminants in Cauvery influenced by Monsun: Learning
Lifeline of Karnataka – Cauvery – Facing Serious Threats.
According to a group of researchers in IIT-Madras, this river is polluted by various contaminants that appear that includes pharmaceutical compounds, personal care products, plastic, fire resistance, heavy metals and pesticides.
Dr.
Ligy Philip’s research head highlighted that more contaminants were driven towards Karnataka because the country had more tour sites and pilgrimages along the riverbank when compared to Tamil Nadu.
The study also caused an alarm for every Indian because our country is the second largest pharmaceutical manufacturing country in the world.
“This contamination is mainly caused by waste water disposal that is not treated or treated part of the domestic origin, industry, agriculture and veterinary.
Samples are collected from 11 places in Karnataka – Kushalnagar, Harai Reservoir, Kr Nagar, Krs Dam, Srirangapatna, Triveni Sangam, Kabini / T Narasipura (Confluence Point), T Narasipura, Purigali, Shivanasamudra and the Arkavathy (Kanakapura) River (Kanakapura), “Dr.

A team of researchers from IIT Madras led by Dr.
Ligy Philip, Nita and Kg Ganapathi, Professor of the Chairman of the Institute, the Department of Civil Engineering, IIT Madras, worked on the project for two years and measured a seasonal distribution of contaminants and pollutants that appeared on the Cauvery River.
This pharmaceutical compound, when released even in the minimum amount into the body of the water, can harm humans and the ecosystem in the long run.
The research team found that water quality and pharmaceutical contaminants in Cauvery were influenced by the rainy season.
The post-monsoon period shows an increase in the level of various types of contaminants including pharmaceuticals due to reduced river flow and continuous waste disposal of various sources.
“The assessment of the team’s environmental risk has shown that pharmaceutical contaminants pose medium to high risk of the form of aquatic life chosen from the river system,” Dr Philip said.
This contamination is mainly due to the disposal of the Ligy Philip Ligy, which is not treated or treated in part
The IIT Madras study shows that it is very important to regularly monitor rivers and river children for contamination by pharmaceutical products.
There are significant contamination with metal such as arsenic, zinc, chromium, lead and nickel.
Points of freshwater intake are also found to be loaded with a concentration of extraordinarily high pharmaceutical concentrations.
These pharmaceutical contaminants include anti-inflammation such as ibuprofen and diklofenac, anti-hypertension such as atenolol and isoprenaline, enzyme inhibitors such as perindopril, stimulants such as caffeine, antidepressants such as ciprofloxacin, and antibiotics such as ciprofloxacin.
