Ghaziabad: Four persons, including three staff and a customer, were injured on Wednesday afternoon after a lift that carries vehicles collapsed to the basement from the third floor while going up at a car service centre in Sahibabad.
According to police, the injured staff members are identified as Brij Bhushan (37), a resident of Modinagar, Gaurav (26), a resident of Vijay Nagar and Naved (28), from Delhi while the customer is identified as Sunil Kumar (28), a resident of Shalimar Garden.
Lokesh Kumar, Sunil’s brother, told TOI that his brother had gone to pick up his car from the service centre.
“Around 1pm, we received a call from police that Sunil was injured in a lift collapse at a the car service centre.
When we arrived, he was admitted to the hospital.
Both of his legs have fractures and head has injuries.
Sunil is still in the ICU,” he said.
The police said, Gaurav received injuries on his face and one of his ears.
Bhushan also received injuries on his face and legs while Naved has injuries on his shoulder and chin.
Alok Dubey, circle officer, Sahibabad, told TOI that the incident happened around 12pm and police wsa informed immediately.
“When our team reached the service centre, the injured people were taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment,” he said.
During investigations it was found that the lift was not serviced for some time and had been malfunctioning.
“So far, we haven’t received any complaint from the injured persons and an action will be taken after that only,” Dubey said.
