The lightning strike that suddenly made a lot of jerk from their bed.
According to the Met office, the Cloud column has traveled to the city of Bangladesh and convection with these columns causing lightning.
“This is Cloud Cumulonimbus – it’s about 8 km – which stretches in several parts of the city.
If the cloud has spread enough, the type of convection is not possible,” said G K Das, Director (weather) at the center of regional meteorology, Kolkata.
According to weather scientists, clouds of cumulonimbus are solid, high and vertical and formed by water vapor carried by strong air currents.
Regardless of lightning, this cloud can also trigger other severe weather conditions such as Hailstorms and Tornados.
There is a cyclone circulation in the northern part of Bengal Bengal.
According to the Alipore weather office, this system is not as strong as a low pressure area.
The cloud formation, driven by cyclical circulation, can trigger a localized storm.
The city tends to get light to moderate rain for the next few days.
This city becomes increasingly susceptible to lightning.
The continuous thighning phenomenon experienced by the city in the early hours of Tuesday is not an isolated incident but something that might be experienced by the city again, climate experts warn on Tuesday.
The effects of the islands created in the city because of the presence of glass and concrete structures, coupled with contaminating particles such as carbon and sulfur, the perfect recipe form to trigger lightning flashes when thick kumulonbus clouds hanged in the city, explaining Soumendu Chatterjee, Professor Geography at University Presidency.
Many attributes increase the amount of SPM in Kolkata to increased lightning intensity in recent years.
Lightning has claimed some lives in recent years.
A young Cricketer suffered a heart attack after lightning passed nearby in Deshapriya Park in June 2018.
A month later, the couple was shocked by lightning near the junction of Jalan Red Road-Mayo.
One of them died.
In August 2019, one person was killed and 16 was injured when lightning attacked on the Victoria Memorial Hall page.
Climatology said improved early detection, warnings and communication can save lives from lightning strikes.
“Lightning (which is static electricity) is very dangerous for agricultural fields filled with water.
Water into an electrical conductor can shine all fields.
It is not recommended to take refuge under a tree, most of which are positively charged and attract thunder from a negatively charged cloud,” said Climatoligist Nariwita Bandyopadhyay.
