According to the Met office, the Cloud column has traveled to the city of Bangladesh and convection with these columns causing lightning.
“This is Cloud Cumulonimbus – it’s about 8 km – which stretches in several parts of the city.
If the cloud has spread enough, the type of convection is not possible,” said G K Das, Director (weather) at the center of regional meteorology, Kolkata.
According to weather scientists, clouds of cumulonimbus are solid, high and vertical and formed by water vapor carried by strong air currents.
