Bengaluru: The 46-year-old vegetable vendor died after being shocked by Lightning on a good road near the Magadi toll gate as heavy rain which was unrelenting through most of the city on Sunday.
The rain leaves the BTM layout and the surrounding area in South Bengaluru which is flooded.
This is the second death of a week because of Havoc’s rain.
A hospitality was killed after crashing into his scooter into a fallen tree in Wee at 4 October 4.
Thippeswamy, a resident of T Dasarahalli and from Tumakuru, died in place, while his son Chidanand, a sustainable injury and treated at the nearest private hospital.
The police said the incident occurred around 5.45 a night when the duo returned home after attending a party at a relative in Chikkagollahatti.
They spread their scooters and stopped near the tree to take refuge from the rain.
Constable Manjunath and Nagaraju in Hoysala vehicles moved on stretching watching two men lying on the ground.
They reached the place and found that Thippeswamy had died and Chidanand was still alive.
They rushed to the hospital, where he told the police about the incident.
Elsewhere in the city, the main road of Bannerghatta, Indiranagar 100 Ft Road, Koramangala 80 Ft Road, Palace Road and Jayamahal Road reported severe waterlogging, which hampered the movement of the vehicle.
Naveen Reddy, residents of the BTM layout, said, “I have lived here for almost 20 years and this has become a narrative for 10 years now.
We told BWSSB about this problem and they tried to put a larger pipe to solve it.
But after Some shower, the problem is back.
“Some cars were stranded on the streets flooded in the area.
Naveen said he had to stop parking his car on the road when he was worried about water damage that could cause it.
“Every time the car will be flooded, the machine must be folded and must be completely dried before use,” he added.
Residents claim BWSSB said all water flowed to their road when it rained and nothing could be done about it.
Commuting on two wheels looks struggling to pass the road in the BTM layout that has almost one leg water.
