The new New Zealand Limited Overs tour has been postponed without limits because of uncertainty when the visitors will be able to return home because of the Covid-19 protocol, the second cricket board said on Wednesday.
The tour, scheduled for January 24 to February 9, consisted of three international international days in Perth, Hobart and Sydney and a solitary twenty-year match in Canberra.
New Zealand Cricket (NZC) and Cricket Australia (CA) said they were discussing when the equipment could be played.
“As we now know, the emergence of Omicron encourages the liver change from the NZ government, which produces a compulsory 10-day isolation period which applies to all the travelers who entered,” said the executive head of NZC David White.
“NZC and CA have explored proposals to expand the tour and to push the date in which the squad might return to New Zealand with hopes that may be achieved by the government.” Unfortunately, we received suggestions this morning that they could do it did not provide certainty about this.
“NZC and CA said the discussion continued when the equipment was postponed would be played.
CA said the ticket buyer would be returned and will confirm the schedule for the T20 international team against Sri Lanka next month as soon as possible.
Australia is scheduled to play five T20s against Sri Lanka from February 11.” We know fans will be disappointed and grateful for their understanding, given the unique state of the global pandemic for everyone, “CEO CEO Hockley said.
