Ranchi: Operating in the limited stock of the Covishield vaccine provided by the State Health Department the day before, the vaccination site throughout Ranchi struggled to manage the snake queue of beneficiaries on Tuesday.
It was a Tightrope road for health workers on guard 19 city session sites that had been opened because they wereoculating urban beneficiaries.

With the district having little or no stock covaxin, most beneficiaries are due to their second dose rejected.
With only 22,000 doses of covishield, it is a difficult demand for health workers to drop the dose between the beneficiaries due to their second dose and those who have appeared for the first.
“Most session sites operate with the first first-chopped service basis,” said a senior official in district health services.
The Septuagenarian Manoj Kumar, a resident of Sector 3 Dhurwa, appears with his wife, Sarla Devi, at the HEC Wellness Center for their second dose of their covishield.
“We have to wait more than an hour to get our dose,” Manoj said.
Laxman Xalxo, who arrived at the Government Middle School campus on the BMP1 campus Doranda, was rejected.
“I was told that due to lack of vaccines, only the first dose was given.
I went there to get my second dose,” Xalxo said.
Ranchi’s civil surgeon Dr.
Vinod Kumar hinted that the vaccine crisis would win on Wednesday.
“We have received 22,000 covishield doses on Monday, where 21,500 doses have been distributed for vaccination on Tuesday.
We will not get a fresh covishield batch today.
We will get 2,500 covaxin doses tomorrow.
So, vaccination will take place consisting of a dose Covaxin and the remaining stock covishield on the site session, “Kumar added.
The State Health Department on Tuesday said it has distributed 4 lats of covaxin doses between 24 districts.
Ranchi was allocated 3,400 doses, the highest, followed by Dhanbad at 2,900.
The state has a daily target for vaccination of 1,18 lakh people while it has a dose of 3.52 lakh, enough to last less than three days, the department is claimed.
