Limiting leads to a surge in wildlife sightings in Pune

Pune: The view of wildlife in the city area has surged over the past year, with animals such as Chinkaras, Gaur India, rare bird species and water animals that look frequent, senior officials of the forest department confirmed.
It is believed that animals roam outside the forest area adjacent to the city limits.
Deputy Forest Conservator, Pune Region, Rahul Patil told TII that Chinkara’s appearance increased near Jalan Baramati-Indapur while Gaurs India is now often seen near the PAUD and Lonavla City regions.
He said that there were at least four Indian Gaur sightings in the city last year, two sightings in Lonavla, one of the appearances in the urban area of Davagr and Baramati.
“Leopard was recently seen near Vishrantwadi.
Human disorders are relatively lacking in forest areas due to a decrease in tourism activities because the limitation of Covid-19 has caused a significant surge in sightings of wildlife in the city area.
The weak human movement, including a decline in vehicle traffic , it has caused the city to calm to a certain extent, giving animal opportunities to move freely.
Gaur India is actually seen every two months, which is a rare event until a year ago, “he said.
Around mid-March, a tiger was seen in the habitat of wildlife located inside the Aurangabad district after a gap of about eight decades.
Protective forest for the region of Kolhapur (region) Clement Ben said, “Because of the disturbance in the forest area, and surrounding areas have been limited and free animals to roam.
Since last year’s locking, some incidents have been recorded where wild animals come out of their habitat looking for food Or when roaming.
“He said that the leopard was seen on the road to the pargad fortress in April while others look near Karad.
It sits on Pune-Bangalore National Highway.
“Sambar and deer looked seen in May in the Chandgad Forest area.
This is a rare example, because these animals prefer meadow habitats while Chandgad is a rainforest area.
A family of four elephants was seen last week in the village of Gudwale in Chandgad Taluka from Kolhapur Regency.
They may have migrated to find food, “Ben added.
On June 21, a leopard was found at the Ticketing Ticket Cave Tick at around 2am on June 21.
Big cats, who may have lost towards the caves to look for prey like a monkey or dog, moved to a green filling nearby after staying around 90 seconds.
“The distance of the mountain where the Ajanta and Ellora caves are a natural habitat for different wildlife.
We should not not consider leemen or other creatures as a human conflict,” said Division Forest Officer (Aurangabad) Sattle Vijay.
Previously, around mid-March, tigers were seen in the habitat of wildlife located in the Aurangabad district after a gap of about eight decades.
Warden Warden Honor Kishor Pathak said the sidewalk related to the pandemic might have made a big cat trip through Yavatmal, the parts of Telangana, Akola, and Hingoli were much easier.
“The public movement of the vehicle is lower and limited to seeing the tiger reaching the Gautala Autrambhe wildlife asylum,” he said.
