Rajkot: Singa Asiatic once again wandered close to Rajkot!.
The forestry department team has seen a lion that leaned on the villages of Jetpur Taluka which borders Junagadh, residence of a lion asiatic and home for the wildlife gear sanctuary.
Some of the different lions have been camping in the villages, almost 80 km from Rajkot, since September 7, officials confirmed to TOI.
According to the villagers, lions are seen around Bordi Samadhiyala and other villages located on the outskirts of gear, natural habitat lions.
The source in the Forestry Department claimed a group of six lions seen in this area in the first week of September but they left later.
After that, four lions including three sub-adults and one female lion are currently camping in these villages.
Prasad Radhakrishna, the Deputy Forest Conservator, Rajkot said, “We cannot divulge village names for the safety of lions but geographically the area is very close to the gear, so they come here.
Because of heavy rain, they get enough water and prey base Like wild cows and wild boar.
“Lions also prey on Nilgai in one of the villages.
According to officials, there is a significant growth of cotton plants with good heights in this area that lions used to hide.
These lions have been preying on the bull tamed on Monday night.

According to officials, lions in Jetpur Taluka villages are not new.
Four lions were seen in Pipalva village in March and they also hunt some domestic animals.
In December last year, 10 lions attacked Gaushala in Arab Timbi Village at night and killed half a dozen of cattle.
In January the Ministry of Forestry arrested eight lions from Jetpur villages after the Kokohan representative by Mla Jayesh Radadiya.
During the last 18 months, the lion has ventured to various talukas from the Rajkot district.
