Liquor Saved from K’taka lands in cops’ Web

Udhagamandalam: 2 truck drivers have been arrested for attempting to smuggle 371 bottles of spirits into the Nilgiris out of Karnataka through Kakkanallah test post. The bottles were concealed within vegetable baskets and hauled in just two trucks.Police said that the liquor bottles were captured during a car check in Kakkanallah test post that drops from Masinagudi police station constraints. “In 1 truck, there have been 165 liquor bottles along with another had 206 bottles. We’ve arrested the motorists R Sanjindev, 29, of Devarshola, along with R Narayanan, 27, of Ooty, also have enrolled a case.,” a police officer said.In a second episode, 3,000 tobacco packs and 46 bottles of liquor were seized from a truck packed with veggies at Devala. The truck was going into Pandalur out of Gundalpet.Police have detained M Mohamed, 32 and S Salim, 32, both inhabitants of Pandalur, at the instance.
