Ludhiana: With the problem of illegal colonies, floating, opposition attacks during the MC General House meeting recently, the building branch official has submitted a list of 55 illegal colonies under Zone C.
List of such colonies in four other zones released.
In particular, regardless of the recommendation of registration firs, there is no action taken so far against the developer of these colonies under the Punjab Apartment and Property Regulation Act (Papra).
In the list, around 20 colonies, was established in around 95 hectares, under the radar of alertness because there were charges against the MC building inspector to help developers illegally.
Under the 2018 regulatory policy too, not many developers registered to make themselves registered.
And from them, very few colonies are declared regularly.
The problem of illegal colonies has been raised by the RTI activist Kuldeep Khaira who even filed complaints with the commissioner of MC Pardeep Sabharwal who claimed that the colony had emerged in various regions throughout the city, and officials failed to take action against the same thing.
After that, such a colony survey was marked and the official was told to come out with the report and stated that they would be responsible if there was another colony found after submitting a list.
Officials take almost 6 months to submit a list that is too only for one zone.
Khaira said officials were very aware of illegal colonies in their area, but accidentally took action.
He said, “I collected information based on the RTI law from the police.
I have also been seeking information about firs on developers since 2018.
Strangely, actions were taken only against eight developers who were also by the authority of the Ludhiana region that was greater and not by MC.
“He said the official recommended the FIRS, they had never bothered to follow up on this problem.
And regardless of their letters to the income department, property registration continues in illegal colonies.
City’s city planner S Bindra said the regular drive was being carried out on illegal colonies and which would be removed soon.
Asked about the firs, he said ATP in question was there to follow up on this problem with the police.
No action in the past also after the survey, citizenship officials have traced around 150-200 illegal colonies within the MC limit in 2019.
But despite serving notifications to developers, no one advanced to be applied in regularization policy.
Commissioner MC who then K Brar also asked officials to continue firmly against the developer.
The MC recommends police actions against 78 developers in 2018 as well, but no FIR is not registered in one of them.
