Kolkata: Many colleges have decided to float something called “wish list” where applicants from the general list can express their desires to accept in certain subjects which will then help universities to prepare a list of names of the collection of wish lists.
The decision had come after the college had found out that acceptance under the postgraduate courses was very slow even after publishing several achievement lists.
Next week will be important for reception UG with the University of Jadavpur and University Presidency, both preferably the choice of many high goals scorers on the board, scheduled to publish their list.
Last year, many universities did introduce a wish list but it was at a distant stage when the chair could not be filled even after extending deadlines many times.
So this year, many universities have collected the names of applicants from the wish list.
Asutosh College has begun asking applicants to provide their subject names and choices for the wish list.
“After several cycles in, we will prepare a list of achievements from names on the wish list.
This will save us from publishing several lists with names of candidates who are not interested in receiving entrance tickets.

“We already have a healthy number of students who have expressed interest in the wish list with almost 1,200 students in English, 750 in history, 350 in psychology and 800 in geography.” A headmaster explains why the wish list is important.

Lady Brabourne College has posted on websites that tell students to save tabs on the website for registration of wish lists.
Seth Anandaram Jaipuria College also plays with the idea of a wish list.
“We will publish a number of reward lists again before entering for wishes,” said an official.
