Literacy program for planned prisoners

Hubballi: Under the ‘Navachetana’ program, Karnataka Country Prison and the Penitentiary Department have initiated the main reformative steps for more than 15,000 prisoners who nest in 50 prisons in the state.
To make the program succeed, the Ministry of Education will train the detainees from November 1.
M.m Marigouda, Dharwad Inspector Center, told TI that the prisoners were victims of the situation and most of the rural background.
“Out of a total of 520 prisoners nested in a central prison, we have identified several illiterate, to educate them.
In the order of the Interior Minister Araga Jnanendra, we hold a class by people’s resources,” he added.
“This literacy program is one of the literacy programs.
The biggest ever tried in prison, not only in Karnataka but throughout India.
It is expected to increase self-esteem and prisoners and also help them change better citizens.
This is being carried out in relations with the Directorate of Education and Adult Adult Education.
This program will be carried out by the Dharwad Ministry of Education.
Two teachers have been assigned to educate prisoners, “he said” this program aims to reform prisoners holistically by increasing physical and mental well-being and their level of education and skills, “he said.
