Literature offers hope in difficult times: Naidu

Venkaiiah Naidu vice-president on Friday said that the literature opened the path to new experiences filled with expectations and optimism in difficult times.
“Literature texts recreate places, events, and experiences that provide magic runaway to the world where we lose ourselves,” he said.
Speaking at the inauguration of ‘Times Literature Festival 2021’, Naidu said that in a crisis, it is a literature that raises the most relevant questions and emerges with related answers.
Literature numbers, through their work, appeal to our imagination in a number of ways – as creative writers, moralists, guides and philosophers, among others.
The Times Litfest has been introduced in virtual avatars for the first time this year and will be held for two months from August 27 to October 17 with sessions every Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday.
This will cover more than 100 authors, including more than 15 best-selling international writers, close to 70 sessions, and 20 workshops.
Among the speakers are Salman Rushdie, Jeffrey Archer, the winner of the booker Douglas Stuart, Rutger Bregman, Tom Holland, Shashi Tharoor, Amish Tripathi, Devdutt Pattanaik and Chitra Banerjee Divakania.
Explain how great writing to us in ways that no one can, Vice President said, “We lose ourselves in the world of words in experience that exceeds all time and space limitations.
There is no right time to immerse yourself in Great writing.
“Naidu said the silver layer over the past 16 months has increased rapidly in the speed of digitizing activities.
This has destroyed access obstacles in a way that is not owned and without doubt, manifestations of human creativity in dealing with difficulties.
Not only human imagination is able to find a way to deal with extraordinary circumstances, but can also change difficulties into opportunities, he added.
Praising Times India to arrange the event and create a conducive environment for debate and discussion, he said, “I was told that the prominent feature of the Litfest Times often became a sparkling exchange between book lovers and writers.” He also expressed his happiness that Litfest did not have entry barriers and thrown into all to participate.
“I am sure that this is one of the reasons behind his great success,” he added, expressing hope that the festival would appear as a platform for various ideas and views.
