New Delhi: Congress Leader Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday met the nine-year-old Dialit Girl’s family who died here after alleged sexual attacks and confirmed that he was with them on the road to justice and “will not reverse even one inches”.
After meeting the victim’s family, the former Chief of Congress said the family demanded anything other than justice and said that they did not get it and needed all help in this matter.
“I told them that Rahul Gandhi stood up with them until they got justice and would not retreat even one inch,” he told reporters after meeting the victim’s parents in the Cantonment area in Delhi.
Asked with who the responsibility of lying in this case, Gandhi said, “I only know that it is my job to help them.” Then, Gandhi posted a photo of his meeting with the girl’s parents on Twitter and said in Tweet in Hindi, “Tears parents only say one thing – their daughter, this country’s daughter, deserve to be justice.
And I with them on the road to this justice.
“Head of Congress Spokesman Randeep Surjewala, who along with several party workers accompanied Gandhi to meet the victim’s family, attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Twitter, by saying far from ensuring justice for victims, not even offering condolences to the family.
The Delhi Commission (DCW) has launched an investigation of the incident in the old Nangal area in Southwest Delhi and summoned the city police after the girl’s parents allegedly and her body forcibly cremated by a priest of the wrong cremator claimed that she was reduced , Hundreds of local residents, including the parents of the victims, have staged protests near the scene in the old Nangal area, demanding the death sentence to be accused.
The police on Monday said that based on the statement of the victim’s mother, the accusation of rape was added to FIR.
Four people, including Imam, have been arrested.
On Tuesday, the opposition parties targeted the Minister of Houses Uni Amit Shah to the incident, questioning the situation of law and order in the national capital, even when Delhi police said strict legal action had been carried out against the defendant.
Gandhi was also tweeted on Tuesday about the incident, said Putri Dalit was also the country’s daughter.
