Kanpur: ‘Strange’ marriage takes place on Monday night in Rasulpur Ruri Village from Ganj Moradabad in Unnao District.
A 60-year-old man and a 55-year-old woman, who has lived together for the past 20 years, tied the wedding knot.
A 13-year-old son of a couple, who was among the members of ‘Bara’, was fortunate to witness the entire marriage process of his parents.
All marriage costs are borne by the village head and villagers.
According to the villagers, some locals usually mock the elder couple to live with a woman without getting married.
To avoid this ridicule, and after being convinced by the village head, both agreed to do marriage rituals at this stage.
Narain Raidas, 60, a resident of Raulpur Ruri, and Ramrati, 55, a resident of Mishrapur Village from Blok Miyaganj, lived together in the village since 2001.
Because no one else in the family, they both got their livelihoods.

They also have a 13-year-old son, Ajay, said the villagers.
Ramesh Kumar Village Chief, Dharmendra Social Workers Bajpai and Sunil Pal convinced Narain and Ratrati to get married to avoid ridicule and insult because they were not married so far.
They also promise to bear all costs.
Both of them agreed and decided to get married.
Village heads and others arrange for DJs, ‘steel bands’ and eat.
The second wedding ritual was carried out on Monday night (July 12).

“They were given a warm welcome by the villagers, who were intimicized to care for the arrangements of the bride.
They were served with soft drinks, snacks and food,” said a group of villagers.
Before that the bride bride reached Brahma Dev Baba’s temple in the village.
Then, the couple exchanged ‘Jaimala’ in the middle of cheers and flowers bathing from their son and other guests.
