Lucknow: Apart from the guarantee that the artificial pool for idol immersion will be made in Jhulellal Vatika and Kudah Ghat on the edge of Gomti, Lucknow Municipal Corporation has not done anything in this direction so far.
As a result, worshipers continued to immerse directly on the river on Friday.
Soil immersion practices have begun in the city in 2019 about the direction of the High Court.
The worshipers who came to soaking said they themselves were interested in soaking environmentally friendly but LMC did not make arrangements for it, which was a violation of court orders.
Previously, the Civic body used to make some artificial pools and spread personnel to be cleaned, but at this time, there was only one hole filled with garbage without anyone cleaning it.
This problem was raised by TOI earlier this week.
LMC officers have assured that the arrangement for immersion of land will be done soon.
However, it turns out only lip service.
“If the Civic body has provided an alternative like the previous years, we do not need to immerse idols in Gomti,” Harshit Vishwakarma said.
Vineet Saini said, “There is so much garbage in an artificial pool, no one can think of immersing idols in it.” Supplementary City Commissioner Abhay Pandey said, “a private body has been directed to clean all artificial pools.
We will do site visits and clean the artificial pool for immersion.”
