Porvorim: Chairman of the Minister of Pramod Sawant on Monday said the state loan limit was 4% of GSDP, namely Rs 3,200 Crore and to date, the state has used Rs 1,100 Crore.
“It’s within limits.
We will not need to touch the maximum loan limit,” he said.
The government has recently experienced criticism for running the country on loans.
Speaking to additional demands, Sawant said the interest rate of the majority of state government loans had been reduced to 8%.
Furthermore, he said the state had risen to fourth, from seventh, in sustainable development goals.
He also said that not the state social welfare scheme was closed.
Sawant said that under the bill discount system, the state government had cleared payment with a 600 crore RS tone to MSMEs.
He also said that until June, 91% of contractor bills had been cleaned.
