New Delhi: BJP in Rajasthan surprised the ruling Congress in local body elections when forming a council in three countries despite winning the majority only on one of them.
Of the six districts where the poll was held, BJP only got a majority in Sirohi.
However, the party managed to form his board in Bharatpur and Jaipur too.
In Jaipur, it was the congress who got the majority but it was a saffron party that managed to form a board in Zila Parishad in an interesting event change.
Koncress candidate Rama Devi who opposed the poll at the party symbol resigned at 9 o’clock in the morning of the party on Monday and joined BJP at 11 am.
At night, the party stated it as a BJP candidate and he later stated Zila Pramukh.
BJP collected 25 votes when Congress got 26 votes.
But with Rama Devi and other Congress workers chose BJP, the party got 27 votes, which was enough to form a board.
The Chairperson of the Ashok Minister Gehlot accused BJP interesting in horse trading because Congress could only form a board in Jodhpur, Sawai Madhopur and Dausa.
“BJP uses horse trading to win Jaipur Zila Pramukh poll where Congress rebels Rama Devi as a BJP candidate.
It was the same person who tried to bring down the Rajasthan government last year,” he said.
State President BJP Satish Poonia said the party’s success was a trailer ahead of the next assembly election.
“This is just a trailer of 2023 polls.
BJP will make a clean sweep in the assembly poll,” said Poonia.
