Mangaluru: The Forestry Department has reported an increase in Leopard’s appearance, especially in the range of mangaluru.
Officials connect the appearance to pandemiceduced locking.
Prashanth Pai, Mangaloru Range Forest Officer (RFO), revealed a quiet road during locking encouraging large cats to explore the human habitat freely than before.
Because food is easily available near human residence in the edge of the forest, they may get used to moving in the area.
“However, now life has returned to near normal, especially in terms of vehicle movements, it can have an impact on the movement of leopards,” said Pai.
